Each company can set their own supporting document requirements.  Most companies only require a photocopy of your marriage or name change certificate, or often just a copy of your updated drivers licence. In the few instances where a company asks to sight originals you should check their procedure for sending and returning mail. You may find if you send your documents by registered mail, it may be returned by registered mail.

Where companies ask for your driver’s licence instead of your marriage certificate as evidence of your new name, they will be expecting to see your licence in your new name.  Make your driver’s licence one of the first documents you update as it will make other changes easier down the track. In many instances you can use your updated passport in place of your driver's licence as evidence of your new name.
